Preparing For Our Anniversary Scooter Trip!

Today was a very nice day after the rain and misting stopped.  It rained all day yesterday and part of today.

I battled a severe headache today, but after I felt I had recovered somewhat,  hubby and I decided that we go over to the golf club for some lunch.

He always looks at me like that....:-).  He's in love!

I ordered a chicken quesadilla thingee and a non-alchoholic beer.
I can't remember what Scootard ordered...??
It was a beautiful day, but a bit windy.  Since it is challenging for me to ride in the wind, we decided to wait until later or tomorrow to go out on the scooters.  My head still was not 100% and we had some shopping to do for our upcoming Anniversary trip to the states this weekend.
We even went back and got more stuff.  Seems like a lot of little stuff is needed on these trips.  This will be our first time!  I hope it all fits! ha

We finally decided on a tent and went and purchased it yesterday after doing some research. Settled on the Ozarka Trail Windigo Sport Dome for 4 persons. I figured since neither of us are small people, it wouldn't hurt to err on the side of caution. ha. Plus my hubby is a tall guy of 6'1".

And of course I have to have these!  My trusting riding boots.  But I hate it when my feet get tired and I have nothing to change into when I want to take a walk.  So, my tennis shoes will be going with us as well as a pair of comfortable sandles.

It's a beautiful day outside today....:-).  However, I have been inside on this crazy computer all day!  Maybe later when my beloved gets in we can go out for a bit.  He has been riding all day and may not want to though.  We will see.

Here is the view from my front window.  Sorry about the window glare...:-(

These are shots of my favorite scooter road....:-)

Gotta watch out for the bears and cougars around here though.

3 years ago on this very road, I turned back on a 50cc and found my way home because I was terrified of getting run over!  Boy, I am glad that day has come and gone!

Ok, so....I'm hoping that I have this thing set up right.  I think I did something wrong in my setting and don't know if anyone is able to post a comment or not except me!  ugh!..

We shall see I guess.....:-).  It's a nice day out today,  Not nearly as hot as the past weekend where I swore I was going to melt away in my gear!

We kept finding feet prints on our seats everytime we went to ride.  Our neighbor has ....wait for it.......4 CATS.  All of which they swear are angels!  Caught this one in the act of checking out the Majesty!

One of these days, I'm going to be on something like that.  I don't think I would want to own one though.  Cost too much to dock those things and to run them.  A hole that you pour money into!

Memorial Ride to Howe Sound Brewery

Yesterday, we met a friend and some of his friends at Howe Sound Brewery and restuarant to celebrate the life of a fallen biker, Paul Cassells who had died from cancer.  The people were very nice and welcoming.  The food on the other hand took us (myself, husband and friend Bob) 1 hour and 45 minutes to get it.  I wasn't impressed with the service this time even though I had eaten there several times before.  But the company was good! I think they plan to do a ride in his honor every year.  This was the first one.

There must have been over 30 bikers there with all types of bikes and gear.

Bob and my husband checking out a faulty GPS on Bob's bike.

This is Ena Cassells, Paul's sister giving a short thank you on behalf of Paul for all those who participated.  She seemed to be a very nice.

Chorizo hash!  Never heard of it, but it was very good!

Round Trip From BC, Canada to Portland, Oregon and Back

We are "inmates" on ADVrider.com and have recently completed a Ride Report of our travels to Oregon and back.  It was my first long distance trip longer than an hour and the very first long distance trip on a 250cc!  You can view it on here:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=799933&highlight=squampton

It was a 12 day journey there and back and far too much information to move onto this blog!  But I will post my other activities here in the future.

LUNCH IN WHISTLER, BC

We went to Whistler yesterday to have some lunch and get out for a while.  It was blazing hot in my gear and the breeze home was much welcomed as I thought I was going to melt clean away.  I ended up stripping all of the guts out of my gear and stopping twice just to get home!  whew...not that's hot!

Whistler/Blackcome Mountain in the background there....My husband has skiied it many times over the years.  Not for me.  Sliding down the side of a mountain on two sheets of metal doesn't appeal to me! ha

I just about starved waiting for the food to come after a long, hot ride.  What is it about slow service here??

It was so warm that we had to stop and take off our helmets just to cool off and take some pics on the way home.  I think it got up to about 90 degrees.  I don't know what that is in celcius (???). HOT!

Blackcomb Village.  Not very much to see there, but nice just the same....:-)

When we finally got home, there was a race to the shower to get the sweat off! haha.  My clothes were still wet from the scorching sun although I had peeled all of the layers out of my jacket.
You can read our ride report for that day here:
