Here are some pics that I took along the way.....
I guess you have to admit that there is something "artistic" about the way things are laid out.
We're talking tons and tons of concrete and a lot of engineering brain work to get this stuff done.
And to think that we travel on and under these things and are still here to talk about it! Well, don't think on that one too long.....ha. You might fly next time!
He REALLY got excited about all these swoops and swerves........:-).
It reminds me of an amusement ride at Six Flags in Texas.
This one would make a nice post card.......:-)
It's amazing that we live in such a modern society while others around the world are still walking and driving on dirt roads because they have nothing else.
The columns look like they should be in an Egyptian temple.....
Swirls and more swirls.......very cool.....:-)
We made our trip there and back in once piece and finished our preparation to depart for Canada.
See you in my next blog call "The Long Road Home!"

The swoops...the swirls. I don't know why they fill me with such a sense of savage joy, but they do. Seeing those hundreds of tons of concrete suspended on such slender columns....
Texas has such graceful interchanges where numerous highways are routed and rerouted with such grace and aplomb............aaaaah me!
To think how many thousands of miles of highways we have in this country is awe inspiring. And all those clover leafs and bypasses stay up there in the air.
We are lucky our infrastructure is as good as it is.
Pat:
I wouldn't be so hasty to mention about having only ONE highway. We don't have many highways in BC either. If you are thinking about interstate type with 4 lanes (2 each way) then we also have HIGHWAY 1, and portions of the Coquihalla. The rest are only 2 lane (one lane each way) so I imagine he is trying to enjoy them while he can.
I am liking your last photo

Those highways are quite amazing, aren't they? You are right, Bob. I think he is trying to enjoy them while he can
