However, there is a bicycle shop right on the corner of my street that might sell something like that. I can go in there and check it out. But Bob, if you find one of those, please pick it up for me and we will pay you for it when we get back. If we find something else or something like it, we will let you know.

We checked with Gary when we first purchased the bike about modifying the seat. He had just had one done for himself in Taiwan, but didn't seem to be too interested in getting another one done. That is why we have been looking for other options. And I loved that last pic of you two.

The best place to find sheep skin for motorcycle seats is IKEA if you happen to have one around. They sell fairly large pieces for $20 or so.

I haven't yet found any tricks for sore butts on long rides. A lot of wiggling in the seat perhaps. Of course that might just add to the chaffing.

Trobairitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03453398807198746434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8697466774739790258.post-67759209212967798792012-10-24T08:11:30.312-07:002012-10-24T08:11:30.312-07:00Pat:

I used to have 2 but gave one away and now I wished I had it.

Don't worry. If I see them for the right price, I will buy one for you too.

If you can wait . . . Gary can order another seat and have one CUT DOWN and repadded. Makes it easier when you sell. We can all come down and measure your BUTT before they alter your seat. Buy some of those Beads and put under the Wool

bob
Riding the Wet Coast
My Flickr // My YouTube

ps: Don't Hurry Back. If I go too high up on the padding, it lifts me off the "bump", but then my feet are not secure when I come to a stop....:-(. I have short legs. I have not seen those gel seats here and I'm not willing to pay what I have seen them going for on the internet.

So, it will have to wait until we return to Canada next month. And then of course, it will be too cold and wet to ride. the might even be out of stock.....sigh....:-(. The picture of the fat old guy down at the dam getting ready to head back up is a bit much though.....hahaha.
Pastor Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06047349748713437097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8697466774739790258.post-36097156092577685202012-10-23T19:48:16.264-07:002012-10-23T19:48:16.264-07:00Chris & Pat:

I mentioned before I have that GEL pad from Canadian Tire. It has air cells and I didn't sweat at all, even in 100°f temps of Hell's Canyon, Oregon.

but nice to see you found a solution. I love looking at all your photos. gives us a taste of what you are seeing, and lets us tag along.
